- 77 public high school students from The Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens, arrived at 9:30 AM to attend a panel discussion featuring college representatives from Columbia University, Fordham University, SUNY College at Old Westbury, Lehmann College (CUNY), and Hostos Community College. Panelists discussed the various advantages of attending the different types of institutions, financial aid opportunities, how to meet college requirements, campus life and activity, collegiate sports, and answered other questions raised by students.
- Following the panel, students were led on tours of Yeshiva University’s Wilf Campus, including the 5 story Gottesman Library, state of the art laboratories, the gym and athletic center, lecture halls, and dorms.
- Returning from the tours, the students, college representatives, and Yeshiva University undergrads shared a pizza lunch, meeting new friends and networking.
- After lunch, the students attended workshops in SAT prep (delivered by Kaplan Test Prep representatives), financial aid (delivered by Yeshiva University and Lehmann College professionals), and how to write a personal statement (delivered by Wilf Campus Writing Center tutors).
- Finally, students attended a 25-school strong college fair, providing the opportunity to network with admissions representatives from schools of their interest.
